We hope you're all enjoying the summer so far! Apple Tree Hill Studio has remained open throughout the summer holidays this year, providing lessons as we would do in term time.
Student Performance Opportunities
Some of you may be aware that teacher Charlie helps organise the Last Friday Folk Club, which (as the name says) happens every last Friday of the month, at The Phoenix, Ridgeway from 8.30pm. Run by volunteers, people come together every month for an amplified open mic session, with floor spots open to anyone who would like to perform. There's a featured special guest every month and all we ask is that you bring yourself and your instrument, you plug into the PA system and we do the sound for you. Unfortunately there's no backing tracks, but we can accommodate live accompanied and acapella performers.
It doesn't matter if you're not strictly a 'folkie', or if you're just starting out; it's a friendly, informal session where people play acoustic music and enjoy some great acts. It also supports local charities with a raffle too! Any students wanting to come down and play are very welcome. Our next event is on Friday 30th August. Block Booking Discounts
Don't forget for our regular weekly and fortnightly students, if you want to save some money make a block booking and receive a discount off your lesson prices as follows:
5x 30 min lesson: 5% off = £71.25
5x 1 hour lesson: 5% off = £142.50
10x 30 min lesson: 10% off = £135.00
10x 1 hour lesson: 10% off = £270.00
Please remember, 24 hour cancellation terms apply to all bookings made.
Student Achievements
Alongside our students who've passed their exams recently, we want to say a big congratulations to our student Anya who performed on the main stage at Sheffield's Pinknic event last month in the Peace Gardens.
It was so much fun to work on your performance with vocals, guitar and ukulele in preparation. You sounded great!
